Female crew wear hair up in a neat bun with no loose strands, in a natural colour; male crew keep a short cut above the collar. Hair is judged at the walk-in, not afterwards.

Make-up

Expected and conventional — groomed brows, a neutral base and a defined lip in the shades that sit with the navy uniform. Arriving at a walk-in without it reads as unprepared.

Facial hair

Male crew are expected clean-shaven. IndiGo does not publish a religious exemption, so if you observe one — a Sikh beard and turban, for instance — raise it with the recruitment team before the walk-in rather than on the day.

Nails

Short, clean and neatly filed with neutral or uniform-matched polish. Extensions and nail art are not part of the standard.

Glasses & contacts

IndiGo publishes no spectacle ban, and DGCA medical standards allow corrected vision. Keep frames plain; many candidates wear contacts to walk-ins simply because the grooming screen is visual.

Piercings

One pair of small earlobe studs for female crew, and nothing visible elsewhere. A small nose stud is common in India but is not covered by IndiGo's published standard, so confirm rather than assume.

Minimal and plain — the issued badge, a watch, a wedding band and small studs.

Tattoos in uniform

Nothing may be visible in uniform. The tunic and trousers cover more than a kebaya does, but hands, wrists, neck and face are always in view, and those placements end an application.

IndiGo does not publish a headscarf option for cabin crew and the uniform has no headscarf piece. Ask the recruitment team directly.

IndiGo publishes a BMI requirement and measures it at the walk-in alongside height. Take the range from the airline's own recruitment notice for your intake rather than from figures quoted second-hand.
