Trainees receive a stipend, probationary crew take home roughly ₹30,000-40,000 per month, and confirmed crew typically land in the ₹40,000-55,000 range including flying allowances — about USD 450-650 — with senior crew and lead positions reaching ₹70,000-100,000. The roster earns every rupee: 4-6 sectors a day is normal, sign-ons before dawn are routine, and Indian aviation's ongoing fatigue debate centres heavily on this flying pattern. There are almost no layovers on domestic patterns, though the growing international network and newly added wide-body operations are changing that at the margins.

What IndiGo genuinely offers is a launchpad. The brand's scale and India's aviation boom mean rapid promotion for capable crew, growing international flying (Gulf, Southeast Asia, and now long-haul with wide-bodies), and a resume that Gulf carriers respect when crew move on — a well-trodden path, as Emirates and Qatar Airways recruit heavily in India.
