- Hair
- Female crew wear hair up in a neat, secured style — the traditional dress worn in flight assumes hair off the neck and shoulders. Natural colours only; male crew keep a short cut.
- Make-up
- Polished and warm-toned to sit with the purple silk. Make-up is treated as part of the uniform look rather than optional.
- Facial hair
- Male crew clean-shaven; no beard allowance is published.
- Nails
- Short, clean and in a neutral or uniform-matched shade; nothing decorated or extended.
- Glasses & contacts
- Thai Airways does not publish a spectacle rule, but its medical screen is strict on vision and the requirements ask for excellent uncorrected or corrected sight. Raise it at the assessment day if you wear glasses daily.
- Piercings
- One pair of small earlobe studs for female crew; nothing visible elsewhere.
- Jewellery
- Discreet — a watch, a wedding band, small studs and the issued wings.
- Tattoos in uniform
- Nothing may be visible in uniform, and the Thai-silk uniform exposes the forearms, which is where most candidates come unstuck. Cover-ups are not accepted; the ink has to sit where fabric already covers it.
- Headscarf
- Thai Airways does not publish a headscarf policy and its uniform has no headscarf piece. Ask the recruitment team directly.
- Uniform
- A purple two-piece for ground and boarding, with the traditional Thai silk dress worn in flight on long-haul — one of the most recognisable cabin looks in Asia. Male crew wear a suit.
- Weight & proportion
- Thai Airways expects weight in proportion to height and measures it: the Bangkok assessment day includes a height and weight check alongside the grooming and personality screening.
