Delta Air Lines cabin crew requirements
The hard filters Delta Air Lines applies before a recruiter reads your CV — age, reach, tattoos, languages and documents, with how strict each one is compared to the rest of the industry.
Minimum age
21 years
Most carriers set 18; Gulf and US majors usually 21.
Height & reach
No published minimum
Reach matters more than height: you must access the emergency equipment overhead.
Tattoos
Nothing visible in uniform
No tattoos visible while in uniform; visible tattoos may not be covered with makeup or bandages. Like most of the 59 airlines we index, nothing may show while you are in uniform.
Languages
Fluent English
Fluent English; a second language qualifies you for higher-priority Language of Destination (LOD) roles.
Education
High school diploma or GED; one or more years of customer service experience strongly preferred.
Also required
Medical, swimming & documents
Right to work in the US required; must pass a 10-year background check, drug screen and physical ability to reach overhead bins and operate exits; willing to relocate to any assigned base.
Work rights matter here
Delta Air Lines expects the right to work in US required. Without it, applications are usually filtered out before assessment regardless of how strong the rest of your profile is.
