- Hair
- Neat, clean and a natural colour, styled to stay clear of the face and of service. Delta publishes no gendered length rule with its job postings.
- Make-up
- Not required. Delta's published hiring requirements say nothing about make-up; the detailed appearance standard arrives after hire, and professional and polished is the operating idea.
- Facial hair
- Delta does not publish its facial-hair rule with job postings, and the full appearance standard is issued after hire. Historically the expectation has been clean-shaven or very closely groomed, so ask the recruiter if you wear a beard.
- Nails
- Clean, neatly shaped and short enough for safe service, with conservative polish. Extensions long enough to interfere with safety equipment are the practical limit.
- Glasses & contacts
- Yes. No US carrier restricts corrective eyewear — the requirement is vision corrected to standard, and frames simply need to look professional.
- Piercings
- Earlobe piercings only, worn as small studs. Visible facial, nose, tongue and body piercings are outside the standard.
- Jewellery
- Conservative and minimal — a watch, a wedding band, small earrings, plus the issued wings and name badge.
- Tattoos in uniform
- Delta is the strictest of the US majors here: nothing may be visible in any uniform piece, and — the part candidates miss — you may not cover a tattoo with make-up, a bandage or a plaster to get past it. Sleeve and collar lines are fixed by the uniform, so forearms, wrists, hands and neck are all disqualifying.

- Delta does not publish a headscarf option and the uniform has no standard headscarf piece. US employers must consider reasonable religious accommodation under federal law, so raise it with recruitment early rather than treating the silence as a refusal.
