Delta Atlanta, three years, and the year one threads on here are Brandon's month three and the two year ones. The full year one at Delta, from the reserve months to the first line to the first international to the profit sharing check in February, has not been written as a whole. Here it is, from three years back.

    Months one to eight: reserve

The reserve months Brandon described: the callouts, the guarantee, the crash pad question, the uniform laid out. Atlanta's reserve is shorter than the coasts' and mine ended at month eight with a domestic line that I did not expect until month twelve. The reserve months taught me the operation and the Atlanta airport and the senior crew who help a reserve who asks.

    Month eight: the first line

A domestic line of turns and two day trips: Jacksonville, Orlando, Nashville, Dallas, a Cancún as the international. The predictability after reserve was the thing: the days off known, the trips known, the family able to plan. The line was the trips nobody above wanted and it was mine and I loved it for that reason.

Month ten: the wide body course and the first international

The A350 and A330 qualification course in Atlanta (the Delta international qualification thread), then the first Europe when a line holder dropped an Amsterdam and I picked it up: the crew rest, the 24 hour layover, the Delta One cabin from the economy side watching the business crew. The first international at month ten at Atlanta is early and the base's international volume is the reason.

    February: the profit sharing check

The Delta thing the other majors do not have in the same form: the profit sharing paid in February as a percentage of the year's earnings, which in a good year is a meaningful check and in year one (with the partial year) was a surprise and a reason the Delta crew stay through the non union question. The check arrived and the rent was paid for two months.

The honest review of year one at a non union major

The pay and the profit sharing are good and the work rules are the company's and not a contract's, which Sally's thread explains. In year one the difference showed in the small things: the reserve rules that changed by memo, the rest that was the policy's minimum, the sense that the rep in the room Amy described does not exist here. The crew who are fine with it are the ones who like the company and trust the policy. The crew who are not are the ones who organise, and that conversation is ongoing at the airline.

    Year one in a sentence

Eight months of reserve, a line at eight, the wide body at ten, the first Europe at ten, the profit sharing in February, the non union question lived rather than read. Atlanta's year one is the fast one in the Delta system and I would choose it again for the line at eight.

    For the Delta new hires

Atlanta for the fast year one, the wide body course when offered, the Europe picked up from a dropped line, the profit sharing as the February surprise, and the non union question as a thing you will have an opinion about by month six.

Delta Atlanta, month four, and Cassie's year one is the map I am on four months in: the reserve to month eight, the line, the wide body at ten. The profit sharing in February is the thing I did not know to look forward to. The non union opinion is forming.

Delta New York, and the Atlanta year one with the line at eight and the Europe at ten against the New York year one with the reserve at twelve months and counting is the base difference in one comparison. Cassie's honest non union paragraph is the one the Delta threads needed.

JFK, and the profit sharing check as the reason the Delta crew stay through the non union question is the honest version of the airline's position and Cassie has said it without the shouting, as my thread tried to. The check is real. So is the memo.

American DFW, union rep, and the non union question at Delta lived in year one rather than read is the thing the American crew watch from the outside: the profit sharing against the contract. Cassie's year one is fair to the airline and to the question. The conversation is ongoing, as she says.

American Chicago, and the year one at Delta Atlanta against the year one at American Chicago is the line at eight against the line at fourteen, with the profit sharing against the APFA scale. Two majors, two year ones. Cassie has written Delta's honestly.

Alaska Seattle, and the first international picked up from a dropped line at month ten is the thing the big hubs give and the small ones do not: the volume. Atlanta's year one is the fast one. Cassie chose it and would again. Fair.

@brandonatl the opinion forming at month four is on schedule and the profit sharing in February will add to it. The line at eight is the Atlanta promise and it held for me. The map is yours.
