Delta and unions, why flight attendants are not unionised and what that means
-
#1 Union rep in Norway, curious. Delta flight attendants are not unionised, unlike United and American. What does that mean in practice for a Delta crew member?
-
#2 In practice: pay and rules are set by the company rather than a contract, and Delta has historically kept pay at or above the unionised carriers to keep it that way, plus profit sharing. No union rep in a disciplinary meeting, though. There have been organising drives. People have views both ways; the pay is good, the protection is what you would expect without a contract.
