Lufthansa purser after five years, what the job actually involves

Made purser last year, so here is the honest job description. You brief the crew, you allocate positions, you are the captain's contact for anything in the cabin, you write the reports when things go wrong, you handle the passenger who wants to speak to a manager, and on a long haul you spend more time managing people than pushing a trolley. Pay bump is real. The days you earn it are the delay days. If you like being responsible, it is the best job on the aircraft. If you like an easy day, stay crew a bit longer, there is no shame in it.
