Back pain from the trolley and the jumpseat, what actually helped

Ten years, 777 purser, and my back gave up in year six. What helped, in order: strength training for the back and core twice a week (the single biggest change), proper technique on the trolley brake and on lifting bags (never lift a passenger's bag into the bin for them, guide it), a physio who understood the job, and shoes with support on the short haul days. Report any trolley strike or lifting injury the same day, even if it seems small. Chronic back problems six months later are only covered if the record exists.

The 'never lift the passenger's bag' rule should be in every training. Guide it, don't lift it.

Strength training twice a week saved my back too. It is not optional past year five.
