THY salary in TRY and inflation, how do foreign crew manage savings?

#1 Thinking about THY as an alternative to the Gulf. But the salary is in Turkish lira. How do foreign crew deal with inflation and saving in a foreign currency?

#2 Salaries are adjusted regularly and the per diems on international layovers are in USD or EUR, which is where foreign crew tend to save. Rent is the main lira cost. Realistically, savings depend on your layover mix and how you convert. It is not Gulf tax free money, but living in Istanbul on a THY income is comfortable, and the network and the airline are excellent. Choose it for the flying, not for the savings.

#3 I convert the USD per diems and keep them separately. That's my savings. The lira salary covers Istanbul life. Works.
