#1 People ask why I never left for the Gulf. The roster: 10-12 days off a month, rest periods above the EASA minimum, part-time options from 50% upward after a few years, a request system that works. The pay is good but not the highest; the life is the best I've seen. If you value days off over layover glamour, Lufthansa is the answer.

#2 The French carriers have a similar collective-agreement culture. It's the trade-off of the legacy European carriers: less tax-free money, far more protection.

#3 As the Gulf representative in this thread: fair. Our days off are 8-10 and the housing is free; yours are 10-12 and you have a union. Different lives.
