Abu Dhabi vs Dubai for a new crew member, cost of living and social life

#1 Offer from Etihad in hand. Friends say Abu Dhabi is boring compared to Dubai. Is that fair? What's the crew social life like and is the cost of living lower?

#2 Quieter, yes. Boring, no, it depends what you want. Abu Dhabi is greener, calmer, beaches are better, and Dubai is 90 minutes away for the big weekends. Rent is a bit lower but housing is provided anyway. The crew community is smaller so you actually see the same faces, which for me was the point. If you want nightlife every night, Dubai; if you want to save and have a normal life, Abu Dhabi is very good.
