Emirates from Ghana and West Africa: the Accra events, the West African crew in Dubai

Emirates, from Accra, two years, and Kwame has written the West African applicant threads from Ghana and the Africa hiring thread. This is the other end: what the West African crew life at Emirates is, for the Accra and Lagos applicants who will arrive.

    The Accra events

Several a year, at the Accra hotels, 250 to 350 in the queue, with the Ghanaian hospitality industry behind a lot of the candidates and the English as the strength. The documents (the police report, the passport, the apostille) as the weakness, exactly as every African thread says. I started mine in the month before the event and still nearly missed the joining date on the apostille.

The West African crew in Dubai

Ghanaians, Nigerians, Ivorians, Senegalese, Cameroonians, across the grades, a community that is growing fast and that the Nairobi purser Grace mentioned. The food is in the Deira restaurants and in the accommodation kitchens. The churches on Fridays are full of us. The community found me in the first week through a Ghanaian on my floor.

    The Accra and Lagos routes

Daily from Dubai, four and six hours with the one hour difference, and held by the seniors in the bidding because every West African crew member wants them for the family at the airport. I have held Accra twice in two years and both times it was luck. The commute on staff travel is the realistic way home: six hours, a three day off block, every two or three months. Not the Egyptian two hours. Better than the Filipino nine.

    The money home

Every West African crew member sends money and the cedi and naira rates have made the salary a family's income. The recruiters know. Nobody is shy.

    The family question

Asked to everyone at Accra, and the answer with the Accra flight and the staff travel and the visits is the one that works. The West African families are used to the diaspora and the recruiters still want the plan, not the history.

Advice for the Accra and Lagos applicants

Documents in the month before the queue, not after the call. Plain photo. The family plan with the flight. And know that the Accra route is the seniors' and the staff travel is the commute, which is fine, because the community in Dubai is home in the meantime.

Ghana, and Kofi has written the Dubai end of the thread I wrote from Accra. The documents in the month before and the Accra route held by the seniors are the two things the applicant groups need. The community in Dubai is the reassurance.

Lagos, waiting, and the West African community in Dubai being large and growing is the thing I wanted to hear while refreshing the portal. The Lagos route held by the seniors is fair. The staff travel is the commute. Noted.

Accra, aspiring, and the Ghanaian on your floor who found you in week one is the image of the community I now have. The documents the month before. The plain photo. The Accra flight in the family answer.

Purser, and the West African crew are the fastest growing group in the batches and the Accra and Lagos routes have West African crew on them more every year. The seniors hold them now. The seniors will be West African soon.

Nigeria, and the Deira restaurants and the Friday churches are the Dubai I did not know existed. Kofi has described the community the Lagos applicants are afraid is not there. It is there.

Kenya Airways, Nairobi, and the East and West African crew at the Gulf carriers describe the same community from different coasts. The documents, the commute, the money home. Africa in the Gulf is one story.

@chidilos the portal refreshing is the Lagos and Accra applicant's shared experience and the community in Dubai is the reward for surviving it. See you on the Lagos flight, held by a senior.
