#1 Chris, Auckland, Air New Zealand for nine years, long haul purser on the 787s and 777s. I joined this forum because the Air New Zealand section was almost empty and the Australian and Kiwi applicants deserve a thread that is not about the Gulf.
What I can offer: the Air New Zealand recruitment process from the inside (the swim test, the relaxed grooming, the hiring across ages), the ultra long haul from the most isolated hub in the world, the crew rest rules and the rest class logic that makes 15 hour sectors legal, the medical from the New Zealand regulator's side, and nine years of the skin routine for the longest sectors in the network.
What I want to learn: how the European and Gulf carriers run their crew rest rotations, because I run ours and I am always looking for a fairer method, and the Qantas international crews' view of the trans Tasman rivalry, which I promise to take in good humour.
