Hello. Jasmin, Hamburg, 25, four years in retail, B2 English on paper and better in practice, and I have applications in with Condor and Eurowings and I have been reading this forum for four months without posting except in my own thread. Time to introduce myself properly, because the introductions board is where I learned that the people here are real.

    How I got here

A customer at the department store who was a Condor crew member and who told me, at the till, that I would be good at it. I did not believe her. I looked it up that night. Four months later I have two applications in and a folder of notes from this forum that is longer than my school notes ever were.

What I know now that I did not know in June

That B2 is genuinely the bar and the speaking matters more than the certificate. That retail is customer service and I should say it in their language. That Condor is four to six days away at a time and Eurowings is home every night and I need to decide which life I want, not which airline is better. That the first payslip is basic only. That the crew bag has a kettle in it, apparently.

    What I am like

The one who reads everything before asking. The one who has a spreadsheet of assessment day questions. The one who will bring the pretzels to the crew flat if I get a base. The one who is, honestly, a bit frightened and a bit excited in equal measure and has decided that is the right ratio.

    What I would like

To hear from the German crew about the assessment days in the autumn, from anyone who did retail before this, and from the Condor and Eurowings crew who have already been kind in my thread. And to be told if I have got anything wrong in the four months of notes.

    Hello, properly, from Hamburg.

Eurowings, and the Hamburg base would be lucky to have someone who reads everything first. The speaking over the certificate, retail in their language, the life not the airline: you have the three things right. Hello, and say hello at the base if it happens.

Condor, and I was Douglas cosmetics before this, so retail to Condor is a path I walked. The four to six days away is the honest number and you have understood it, which most applicants do not until the first Caribbean. Hello, Jasmin.

Berlin, Lufthansa offer, and I was the other German applicant thread this autumn. Two of us with the frightened and excited ratio. Hello from the next city over.

@lucasber the ratio is the correct ratio and we are proof. Hello.

Lufthansa Frankfurt, and the kettle in the crew bag is true, and you will understand it on your first Frankfurt night stop in February. Welcome, properly.

easyJet Berlin, and I keep saying we exist in every German thread and I will say it here too: three German options is really four. Hello, and good luck with both applications and the possible third.
