Qatar Airways housing 2026: which buildings, sharing, and what changed
-
#1 Housing questions every day. Let's collect the current picture. I am in one of the newer buildings, two bedroom, one flatmate, own bathroom, gym and pool downstairs, shuttle to the airport. What are others in and what has changed recently?
-
#2 Older building, three of us, shared bathroom for two of us. It is fine but the newer ones are nicer. You can request a move after a period.
-
#3 Six years in, I am on the housing allowance now and rent my own place. The allowance covers a decent one bedroom if you are not fussy about the area.
-
#4 Two years, newer building, two flatmates, both lovely, both on different rosters so we barely see each other. Which is the point.
-
#5 The guest rules are the thing new people ask most. Registered guests only, limits on overnight, and it is enforced. Treat it like a nice residence.
-
#6 The shuttle schedule matters more than the building. Check the pickup times for your report windows.
-
#7 Good point on the shuttle. The night pickups for 02:00 reports are the ones to know.
-
#8 Moved buildings once in three years by request, took two months. Ask nicely, be patient.
-
#9 Supermarket next to the building is half the reason I never learned to drive here.
-
#10 For the allowance decision: it makes sense from senior grades when the number covers a place you actually want. Before that, provided housing wins on money.
-
#11 Joining in December, reading every word. Newer building please, universe.
-
#12 Summary for Kofi and everyone: shared apartment, own room, sometimes own bathroom, gym, pool, shuttle, strict guest rules, allowance option later. Doha is calm and the buildings are good.
