Passed training, first supernumerary (familiarisation) flight tomorrow, Warsaw-London and back. What do I do? Just watch? Serve? I don't want to be in the way.

You're an extra crew member being assessed by the number one. You'll do the safety demo position, a cabin secure check, part of the service under supervision, and the paperwork with the number one. Ask before touching anything in the galley, say your cross-checks out loud, smile at the passengers, and bring food, the crew meal is not guaranteed for supernumeraries on some rotations. Enjoy it, it's the day the job becomes real.

Done. Six sectors over two days, the number one signed me off. Sat at L2 for landing and had to remind myself I wasn't a passenger.
