Wizz Air training bond: leaving before the period ends, what actually happens

#1 If I join Wizz and after a year get a Gulf offer, what happens with the training retention clause? Do you actually have to pay it back?

#2 The clause is real and it is in the contract you sign, a proportion repayable if you leave inside the period, reducing over time. People do leave for the Gulf after a year and either pay the remaining proportion or negotiate. Read your own contract for the number and the period, it varies by base and by year of joining. Nobody should be surprised by it because it is on page two.
