Video interview stage (HireVue style), what are they scoring?

#1 Riyadh Air sent me a one-way video interview: 5 questions, 30 seconds prep, 90 seconds answer. No human. What are they looking at? My room, my clothes, my English, my smile?

#2 All of it, in this order: can you be understood clearly (pace, pronunciation), do you structure an answer (STAR, situation, task, action, result), and do you look like crew (groomed, plain background, camera at eye level, smile at the start and end).
Practice with your phone recording you. Most people talk too fast on the first take.

#3 Did three practice runs. Realised I was looking at myself on screen instead of the camera lens, fixed that. Submitted, and got the assessment centre invite 12 days later. Sharing for the next person.

#4 Great tip on the lens. One more: the 30-second prep is enough to jot three keywords on paper. Don't write sentences, you'll read them and it shows.
