What to do the week before training starts, from someone who wished she had
-
#1 Four years in and I train new joiners at Gatwick sometimes. The week before: sort your life admin completely, because training leaves zero time. Bank, phone contract, childcare, parking. Move your wake up to 5.30 a week early. Swim 50 metres once so you know you can. Buy the black shoes now and wear them in. And sleep. The people who arrive tired in week one are the people doing resits in week two.

#2 The wear the shoes in advice alone would have saved me a week of blisters.

#3 Life admin done in advance, yes. I spent an evening of week two on the phone to my bank and paid for it on the next exam.
