At a European LCC interview I was asked whether I would be comfortable with the uniform policy. I wear a hijab. I said yes but felt caught out. How should I answer this at BA next month, and which airlines have a clear policy?

The clean answer is: I have read the uniform standards and I am comfortable with them, and then let them ask more if they want. BA has an approved headscarf as part of the uniform, as do Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Saudia, Turkish and several others. Some LCCs have clear policies, some are vague, and vague is the one to ask about before you accept an offer, not at the interview. You did fine, the question was clumsy, not you.

Emirates has the uniform headscarf option and lots of crew use it. Same at Qatar. You have choices.

Thank you, that answer is exactly what I needed and I did not know BA had an approved one.
