First payslip shock: why is my first month so low?

#1 First real payslip after wings and it's much lower than the number I was told. Sector pay looks tiny. Is this normal?

#2 Normal. The first month is partly training rate, partly a short flying month, and sector pay is only for sectors actually flown, supernumerary sectors often pay differently. Month three is the first honest month. Also check the pay period: many airlines pay flying pay a month in arrears, so your first payslip has last month's near-zero flying hours.
