Trying to summarise what I've learned here, please correct:

Gulf (EK/QR/EY): tax-free, housing and transport included, roughly 10-14k AED/QAR a month total for junior grades. Highest savings in years 1-3. No union, 8-10 days off.
European legacy (LH/BA/AF/KLM): taxed, no housing, lower take-home in year one, but 10-12 days off, unions, pensions, part-time, best in years 10+.
European low-cost (Ryanair/Wizz/easyJet): fastest door, seasonal swings, commission matters, predictable patterns.
US majors: low year one, reserve, then seniority makes it a 30-year career with the best long-term pay.

    Does this match reality?

Matches from the Gulf side. Front-loaded savings, then a decision point around year four.

Matches from Frankfurt. I'd add: the European legacy pension is the invisible number nobody counts at 24 and everybody counts at 44.

US side: correct. Nobody should judge a US major career by year one.
