Becoming a father next year. Lufthansa has decent paternity provisions under German law plus the tariff. I am curious what other countries and airlines offer for fathers specifically, since the maternity side is discussed but the paternity side rarely is.

Sweden is the gold standard, months of shared leave, and SAS supports it fully, several male colleagues took six months. Norway similar.

US: whatever the contract gives, which at United is some paid leave under the newer agreement but nothing like Europe. Most US fathers use vacation and trip trades.

Gulf: short paid paternity leave, a few days, per local law. The difference with Europe is stark.
