Can the airline change my base without asking? European contracts

Transavia France and a colleague was 'offered' a base change with not much choice. What are the rules in Europe? Can they move you?

Depends entirely on the contract clause. Many European contracts have a mobility clause allowing base changes with notice and sometimes relocation support; others tie you to a named base. Low cost carriers usually have the mobility clause. If it is in your contract, they can with notice; if it is not, they need your agreement. Read the clause, and if it is ambiguous, the union will have seen it before.

Ryanair's clause is famous. Base moves happen, especially at seasonal bases. It is in the contract you signed.
