Can the airline change my base without asking? European contracts
-
#1 Transavia France and a colleague was 'offered' a base change with not much choice. What are the rules in Europe? Can they move you?
-
#2 Depends entirely on the contract clause. Many European contracts have a mobility clause allowing base changes with notice and sometimes relocation support; others tie you to a named base. Low cost carriers usually have the mobility clause. If it is in your contract, they can with notice; if it is not, they need your agreement. Read the clause, and if it is ambiguous, the union will have seen it before.

#3 Ryanair's clause is famous. Base moves happen, especially at seasonal bases. It is in the contract you signed.
