#1 Not the fun version. Sometimes a layover is a hotel room in a city you have seen ten times, the crew is tired, and it is just you and the TV for 30 hours. How do people handle the lonely layovers?

#2 Ten years: I plan one small thing, a walk to a specific café, a museum for an hour, even the supermarket, so the day has a shape. I call home at a fixed time. And I learned that a lonely layover is a rest, not a failure; the body needs the boring ones. The crew who try to have an adventure every layover burn out.
