    For anyone in Southeast Asia: what's it like starting at AirAsia (Malaysia) or Cebu Pacific (Philippines)? Requirements, pay, and does the experience travel to the Gulf?

    Both hire nationals primarily, with local requirements on height/reach and language. Pay is local-market and modest by Gulf standards, but the flying experience is excellent, high sector counts, busy cabins, sales. Gulf assessors respect it; many Emirates and Qatar crew from the Philippines and Malaysia started at exactly these carriers.
