Houston base for a new United hire, is it the right first base?

#2 Junior base, big hub, cost of living is manageable, and reserve is shorter, I held a line in 14 months. Lots of Latin America flying, which suits Spanish speakers. The weather and the commute are the downsides. Build seniority here, transfer to the coast later if you still want to.
