Pedro, Recife, 28, restaurant manager for five years at a seafood place on the beach that every tourist in the city has eaten at, and I have been reading this forum for four months without posting. The ANAC course is booked for January, the GOL and Azul applications go in after it, and the Gulf events in São Paulo are on the list for the spring. Here is why I am posting now.

    Why I am here

Because the Brazilian applicant threads on this forum are about the Gulf (Leo's Emirates training, the São Paulo open days) and the Brazilian crew threads are about LATAM long haul (Cecilia, Bianca) and Azul from the inside (Bruno) and the trainers (Isabel, Gabriel), and the applicant who wants to start at home with GOL or Azul and does not know whether to do the ANAC course first has nobody to ask. I am that applicant and I will document it the way Noor documented the Gulf applications, for the next Brazilian who is.

    The ANAC course question

The Brazilian cabin crew licence (the ANAC comissário course and exam) is required to fly for the Brazilian carriers and the applicants debate whether to do it before applying (the airline then does not need to fund it and prefers you) or to apply and hope the airline's course covers it (which the big carriers' intakes sometimes do). I am doing it first, in January, at a school in Recife, because the Azul and GOL postings I have read want it done and because the Gulf events do not need it but the Brazilian ones do. The cost is real and the course is three months part time. I will write the honest version of the course.

    The plan

ANAC in January to March. GOL and Azul applications in April (both recruit in the Northeast, the Recife base being Azul's and GOL's regional). The Gulf events in São Paulo in the spring as the parallel track, because the Gulf package and the Recife rent are a different maths and the Gulf is the saving and home is the life. If both come, the forum will help me decide. If neither comes, the restaurant is still there and the ANAC licence is still mine.

    What I bring

Five years of service under pressure in a restaurant that does four hundred covers on a Saturday, the English from the tourists (B2 tested, working toward C1), the Spanish from the Argentine season, the calm with the drunk tourist and the lost child and the kitchen fire (a small one), and the Northeastern patience that the São Paulo recruiters apparently find charming, according to Leo.

    What I need

The Brazilian crew's honest view of GOL versus Azul for a new joiner from the Northeast (Bruno?), whether the ANAC first was the right call (Isabel, Gabriel?), and the São Paulo Gulf events from the Brazilian applicant's side (Leo's thread has the training, not the events). I will write it all back.

    Hello

From the beach restaurant in Recife, with the ANAC book open on the bar. Four months of reading and now posting. Obrigado for the forum.

Azul São Paulo, four years, and the Recife base is Azul's Northeast heart and the GOL versus Azul for a Northeast new joiner is a thread I will write for you this week: the network, the Embraer and the A320, the Recife flying. The ANAC first was the right call. Welcome Pedro, and the documenting plan is the right plan.

Trainer in Rio, ex GOL, and the ANAC first is what I tell every Brazilian applicant who asks: the licence is yours and the airlines prefer it done. The honest version of the course from a Recife school will be useful to the whole Northeast. Welcome, and write the kitchen fire story into the STAR format, it is a good one.

Instructor, ex Azul, and the three months part time at a good school is the right way to do the ANAC and the exam is passable with the method in the training threads here. The Recife base is a real base and not a stepping stone. Welcome Pedro. The documenting thread will help the next one, as you say.

Emirates training week 5, from Curitiba, and the São Paulo Gulf events from the Brazilian applicant's side is a thread I owe this forum and will write from the training centre: the day, the queue, the Brazilian candidates' strengths and the one mistake. The Northeastern patience is charming to recruiters, yes. Welcome Pedro.

LATAM São Paulo, and the applicant who wants to start at home not having anyone to ask is true and Pedro is now the one the next Northeast applicant asks. GOL and Azul are real careers and the Gulf is the parallel track, and both tracks have crew on this forum. Welcome and bem vindo.

LATAM, Portuguese, Spanish, English, and the B2 toward C1 with the Spanish from the Argentine season is a good language set for the Brazilian carriers' international flying and for the Gulf's Latin America routes. Welcome Pedro. The restaurant's four hundred covers is the service story the recruiters want.

@brunogru the GOL versus Azul thread for the Northeast is the thing I have been hoping someone would write and I will read it the hour it posts. @isabelgig the kitchen fire in STAR format is being written tonight. Obrigado, everyone.
