Chennai, 24, hotel banquets, and the Qatar event in Chennai was ten days ago and the Hyderabad one the week before, and the South Indian applicants are in the same waiting room with no thread of our own (the Kochi Emirates thread exists and the Mumbai one and this is the Qatar South India version). Here is the thread: post your event, your city, your day count, and the ones who got the call, post the after.

    My event

Chennai, the hotel near the airport, around 200 in the queue by 7am, the document check, the presentation, the first cut by number (about half went home, as every assessment thread says), the English test, the group exercise (the scenario with the delayed flight and the connecting passengers), the reach test at the wall (210 by my own measurement at home and 211 on the day on the balance, which Mira's thread had prepared me for, and the recruiter gave me the second attempt), and the final interview the next morning. About 50 of us reached the final. The recruiters said the calls come in three to eight weeks.

    The Hyderabad event

From the applicants in the groups: a similar day the week before, around 250 in the queue, the same structure, around 60 to the final. Sana's and Rahul's threads on the Qatar board have the Hyderabad alumni from earlier events and the after.

What the call looks like from India

From Priya's Mumbai Emirates thread and the Hyderabad Qatar alumni: a Doha number on a weekday morning Doha time (which is late morning in India), the recruiter with the congratulations and the readiness questions, the email within two days with the portal and the document list, the joining date two to four months out.

The police clearance and the attestation

The Indian police clearance certificate through the passport office (Passport Seva) with the appointment and the verification, two to four weeks depending on the city and the address history. The educational certificates attested through the state HRD department and then the MEA and then the Qatar embassy, which is the slow chain and the one the applicants should start the day the call comes or, as the alumni say, before it. The medical at the approved clinics in Chennai and Hyderabad.

    The day counts

Chennai event: day 10 (me), and the Chennai group has about 30 in the final waiting. Hyderabad event: day 17, the group has about 40 waiting. No calls yet from either, which is normal at this stage. The window the recruiters gave was three to eight weeks and the Hyderabad alumni threads had the calls at day 25 to 55.

    For the South Indian applicants

Post your city and your day count. Start the police clearance appointment now because the Passport Seva slots in Chennai and Hyderabad are weeks out. Read the Hyderabad alumni threads on the Qatar board for the after. And when the call comes, post the after here for the next event's applicants, because the Kochi and Mumbai threads did that for us.

Qatar from Hyderabad, three years, and the Hyderabad event alumni are watching this thread. Day 25 to 55 was my event's window and the calls came in two batches. The HRD attestation chain is the slow one and the applicants should start it now, as Deepa says. Posting the after when it comes is the tradition. Good luck Chennai and Hyderabad.

Qatar from Hyderabad, two years, and the Hyderabad event alumni thread was mine and this is its South India successor. The police clearance appointment now is the single best thing to do while waiting, because the Passport Seva slots in Hyderabad were three weeks out when I needed them. Day 17 is early. Hold on.

Emirates from Mumbai, and the Mumbai thread was the one that did this for the Kochi one and the Kochi one for yours, and that is how it should work. The Doha number on a weekday late morning India time is right. Posting the after is the deal. Good luck to both cities.

Kochi, Emirates event done, waiting, day 38, and the Kerala applicants are in your waiting room too across the two airlines. The attestation chain through the state and the MEA is the same for us. Chennai and Hyderabad, we are watching with you.

IndiGo Bengaluru, three years, considering the Gulf, and the Bengaluru applicants were at the Chennai event (two from my base) and are in the Chennai count. The IndiGo experience was noted at the final, they said. Adding Bengaluru to the South India room.

IndiGo Bangalore, two years, applying to the Gulf events every month, and I was at the Chennai event too, in the final, day 10 like Deepa. Posting my count here: Chennai, day 10. The reach was 212 exactly on the day. Waiting with the Chennai group.

IndiGo Delhi, applying to the Gulf events every month, and the Delhi applicants look at the South India threads for the pattern because the Delhi events are less frequent. The attestation chain is the same from Delhi. Watching your day counts and wishing you the calls.

Updating the count: Chennai day 10 (me, @deepakblr and about 30), Hyderabad day 17 (about 40), Bengaluru applicants counted in Chennai. @sanaqr the Passport Seva appointment is booked for next week because of this. Posting again at day 20.
