Got the Etihad call from the Beirut final on day 34: the Abu Dhabi offer process, the Lebanese documents, the medical in Beirut and the joining date

Beirut, and I wrote the thread translating the Gulf recruitment process for the Lebanese applicants, and I said I would write the after if the call came. It came on day 34 from the final interview, on a Tuesday at 11am Beirut time, from an Abu Dhabi number. Here is the after for the Levant applicants waiting, because the Beirut process has specifics.

    The call

The recruiter, warm and quick: the congratulations, the offer in principle, the questions about the readiness (the notice period, the passport validity, the family's position, which I had answered at the final and which they asked again), and the email to follow within 48 hours. Five minutes. I said yes on the call and then sat on the floor of my parents' kitchen for a while.

    The email and the offer

The offer letter with the grade, the basic, the allowances structure, the accommodation (company provided for the new joiners), the joining date range, and the document list. The portal access for the uploads. The deadline to accept, a week. The joining date was given as a window two to three months out and confirmed later as a specific date in the window.

    The Lebanese applicant's documents

The passport with the validity (the Lebanese passport renewal queue is the thing to start before the final, as every Lebanese applicant knows), the educational certificates attested through the Lebanese ministry and the UAE embassy route (the attestation is the slow step and the one to start the day the call comes), the police clearance from the Lebanese authorities (two to three weeks), the birth certificate extract, the photos to the spec, and the medical. The attestation and the police clearance are the two the Levant applicants should start immediately and the offer process waits for them.

    The medical in Beirut

The pre employment medical at an approved clinic in Beirut (the list came in the email), the blood tests, the chest x ray, the general examination, the eyesight and the hearing (Kenji's ear thread had me worried for nothing), and the results sent to Abu Dhabi. A week for the appointment and a week for the results. The Beirut clinic was efficient and the staff had done hundreds of these.

    The joining date

Confirmed by email four weeks after the acceptance as a specific date ten weeks from the call. The flight booked by the airline, the arrival day, the accommodation allocation to follow, the training start three days after arrival. The Lebanese new joiners in my intake are three, from the Beirut final and the Dubai one (Nour, if hers comes, would be the fourth and I am watching her thread).

    The family's position

The thing the Levant applicants carry: the parents, the distance, the country's situation. My parents were at the final in spirit and are at the joining in person; the Beirut to Abu Dhabi flight is three hours and the Etihad network flies it daily (Amira's roster thread has the Beirut turnaround on the roster most months), which was the sentence that made my mother stop crying.

    For the Levant applicants waiting

Start the passport renewal and the attestation before the call if you can. Expect the call on a weekday morning Abu Dhabi time from a UAE number. Say yes and sit on the floor. Then the documents, the medical, the ten weeks. The Beirut process has its specifics and they are all solvable, and the translation thread I wrote has the rest.

Beirut, waiting after the Dubai final, day 41, and I have read this four times. The attestation through the ministry started today because of it. Day 34 for you, and mine is in the same window, and if it comes I will be the fourth in your intake. Congratulations Yara. The floor of the kitchen is where I will be too.

Etihad, from Amman, and the Beirut turnaround on the roster most months is true and your mother was right to stop crying: the Levant crew fly home more than any other Gulf carrier's crew. The attestation is the slow step, start it the day the call comes, as you say. Welcome to the building, Yara.

MEA Beirut, five years, and the Lebanese passport renewal queue being the thing to start before the final is the advice every Lebanese applicant should read first. The Beirut clinics on the Gulf lists have done hundreds, as you say. Congratulations from across the apron.

MEA, seven years, and the three hour flight and the daily service is the sentence for the Lebanese parents and you have given it to them. The Levant community at Etihad is real and warm, as Tariq's threads on the Emirates side describe for Dubai. Mabrouk Yara.

Etihad, from Alexandria, and the ten weeks from call to joining and the training three days after arrival is the current pattern exactly and your intake arrives in the building where the Egyptian and Levant crew are the majority on my floor. The documents all solvable, as you say. Welcome.

Qatar, from Alexandria, and the attestation being the slow step is the same at Qatar and the applicants who start it before the call are the ones who join on the first date. Congratulations Yara, and @nourbey day 41 is inside the window, hold on.

@nourbey the attestation started today is the right move whether the call is this week or next, and the fourth seat in the intake is yours. @amiraauh the Beirut turnaround most months is the thing I will bid for first.
